Experimenting with tablet weaving. Its a form of weaving narrow bands in intricate patterns that goes back thousands of years. I made my own tablets from Bear Yoyo cards (they come in kids snacks!) and set up my threads tied between a chair and my belt. I’m still very much learning at this but I’m pleased with my results so far, imagining all the trims and belts and cords I can adorn my clothing with!
Where I live now (Andover) has a strong history of weaving and cloth production and as I develop my relationship with my surroundings, I find I’m being increasingly drawn to fibre and cloth for my creative practices going forward.
