My evolved stitch sampler

For the past week I've been working on this piece of embroidery that originally started as a stitch sampler at a recent Blossum LGBTQ art workshop in Guildford but has since evolved into something else 😆

It has progressed from the surface of the moon, to an ordnance survey map, then to a rock pool ecosystem and on to perhaps something you might see under a microscope. Now maybe it's a bit of everything.

I'm very much enjoying creating art with stitches. It's slow and soothing, easy to pick up and put down,  and I find I keep catching small glimpses of inspiration and truth as I work. I want to keep searching for that feeling, I feel like there's something here I'm only just starting to tap into.
