Tried papermaking for the first time at the weekend. A few days later and now my paper sheets have dried and are ready to use!
I'm so happy with how they turned out, honestly feels like I've unlocked a new super power.
I've been looking into ways to recycle and reuse old watercolour paintings: as watercolour paper can be really expensive, it felt wasteful to just put it in the recycling bin.
And it turns out making paper is actually easier than it looks and really fun and satisfying. The paper came out much whiter than I expected. I've been thinking about how I can potentially incorporate colours, and textile and garden waste too, into future batches.
Now to test out painting and drawing on my new sheets!
I've put some process photos and videos in my story highlights on Instagram if you are interested in seeing more 😁
