Just had a go at making a copper wire fibula brooch, a project from the book Bog Fashion by Nicole Derushie.

I bought the book primarily because I was interested in the patterns for the garments. But I was also intrigued by a couple of metal working projects for accessories in the book too.

This brooch is a style found in Europe from the late bronze age to the early iron age.

I’ve never worked with metal or jewellery before and I probably didn’t have the right tools – so it’s all a bit rustic. But I’m pleased with it nonetheless.

Fallow deer I created in art class today using collaged gelli printed papers. We stayed in a cabin in the New Forest recently and these deer were regular visitors ☺️

Picked up an Ashford traditional spinning wheel for a bargain from FB marketplace. I think it’s from the 80s – I’m going to give it a spruce up and try and get it spinning!
