An acrylic painting I started in 2021, then added some pastel to in 2023, now finally a bit of embroidery in 2025 and it’s finished for the full moon.
A reminder to myself it’s ok to take breaks, and progress doesn’t need to be linear. -

We stayed for a few days in shepherd’s hut in the South Downs last week. Managed to find a few moments of serenity amongst the general family chaos – and it was a perfect place to spin up this South Downs Harting Black wool I got from Feral fibres.

It was such a joy to unroll this off the loom! You roll the fabric up as you go when weaving so you don’t get to see the full length until the very end.
I used a cotton warp and the weft was made from old t-shirts from my family – soft and full of memories. Was intending this to be a table runner – I thought it would be heavy. But it’s not, so I think I will keep it as a shawl to wrap myself up in.
